Loneliness

And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Deuteronomy 31:8 KJV

Humans are highly social creatures. We need to interact with one another in order to be happy. Some people in life may experience intense loneliness. Loneliness can be a result of lack of interaction with others. More commonly, loneliness is felt when there is emotional distance from others, rather than from a lack of interaction.

Loneliness is painful, and it can also cause health problems. Many times, people who experience intense feelings of loneliness do have people in their life who care about them, but they cannot feel the emotional connection.

In therapy, I help people who are experiencing loneliness discover in themselves the reason behind the feeling. I help them feel God’s love and the love that others have for them as well. I also help them learn how to make and keep strong emotional connections with others and how to make new meaningful relationships.
